When working for yourself it is easy to get stuck in your ways. With no one to tell you how things should be done or to brain storm with, things slide and unless you are proactive enough to keep your creative mind going – you come to a halt.

I was at that halt in December. I reached a point of not knowing where I wanted to go or what I wanted to do. I knew where I wanted to end up but I didn’t (and still don’t) know how to get there. I do like to jump on the ‘New Year New Me!’ bandwagon in January but this year felt more significant to me, and it really was a new start for not only me but my family too. So when it came to thinking about work I knew I wanted to head down a different route with studio portraits. I had fallen out of love with my little space and I desperately wanted to fall back in love with it.
